This instrument is used for globe stabilization for 23 gauge and 25 gauge trocar insertion. It is similar to the Z-1697 Castroviejo Suturing Forceps, with one tooth on each tip and a stopper to prevent closure beyond 10mm. The forceps teeth exert little pressure to stabilize the globe securely and gently, avoiding damage to the conjunctiva. The stopper prevents from grasping at more than the limbus, minimizing risk of corneal abrasion. This instrument also allows unlimited space in the surrounding area for the fellow hand instruments and offers no restriction during concomitant manipulations.
